Permit-to-work
Werkvergunning
Also known as: ptw, permit-to-work, toewerkvergunning, vergunning
Written permission from the IV (requested by the WV) for a specific high-risk electrical task. Contains scope, location, appointed persons, validity, applicable safety measures and final check.
Practical example
To replace a main switch in a factory hall, a permit-to-work is drawn up with scope, validity period, appointed VP and the safety measures to be taken.
Common mistake
Continuing to work on a permit-to-work that has expired — conditions may have changed in the meantime without being reassessed.
