Near-Miss Reporting
The reporting and logging of an event in which no personal injury or damage occurred, but which under slightly different circumstances could have led to an electrical accident (e.g. touching a group that was incorrectly not made dead). Unlike the legally mandatory accident registration, near-miss reporting is voluntary and proactive, and within NEN 3140 serves as an early indicator to adjust the RI&E, work instructions, and safety culture before actual injury occurs.

Near-miss-meldingen ontmoedigen of bestraffen als 'bijna een fout' — dit leidt ertoe dat medewerkers voorvallen verzwijgen, waardoor waardevolle vroegtijdige signalen voor de RI&E verloren gaan.
