Danger Zone & Approach Boundary
Gevarenzone & Naderingszone
Under NEN 3140, the danger zone is the space around a live part where contact or close approach creates a real electrical hazard; the approach boundary is the wider zone around it within which additional precautions already apply. The exact distances (DL/DV) are listed in Table 105 of NEN 3140 and depend on the nominal voltage.
Practical example
Bij het testen van een schakelkast onder spanning wordt een afzetting geplaatst op de grens van de naderingszone, zodat omstanders niet onbedoeld de gevarenzone betreden.
Common mistake
Denken dat de naderingszone alleen voor hoogspanning geldt — ook bij laagspanning (>50 V AC) gelden vaste minimumafstanden uit Tabel 105 zodra zonder scherming aan of nabij actieve delen wordt gewerkt.
