Touch voltage (UL)
Aanrakingsspanning (UL)
The voltage appearing across the human body when touching a conductive part that has become live under a fault. NEN 1010 uses a conventional limit UL of 50 V AC / 120 V DC; above it the protection must clear the fault within the prescribed disconnection time (§411). The permissible duration drops sharply as the voltage rises.
Common mistake
Denken dat 50 V altijd veilig is — in natte ruimten, bouwplaatsen en landbouw geldt een lagere grenswaarde (25 V, soms 12 V).
