Heat pump (electrical connection)
Warmtepomp (elektrische aansluiting)
Also known as: warmtepomp, wp, heat-pump, heatpump
Three-phase or heavy single-phase load with high inrush current—requires C or D characteristic breaker, dedicated circuit, and often Type F RCD due to inverter. Verify utility capacity before installation.
Practical example
Heat pump (electrical connection): An air-to-water heat pump with high inrush current gets a C-type MCB and its own final circuit, after consulting the DSO regarding available connection capacity.
Common mistake
Heat pump (electrical connection): Connecting a heat pump to an existing circuit without verifying capacity with the DSO—multiple heavy appliances may cause the main fuse to trip.
