Spanningsniveau (ELV/LV/HV)
Classification of voltage bands per IEC 60038: ELV (Extra Low Voltage, ≤ 50 V AC / 120 V DC), LV (Low Voltage, up to 1000 V AC / 1500 V DC) and HV (High Voltage, above 1000 V AC). NEN 1010 applies to low-voltage (LV) installations; ELV circuits (SELV/PELV) have lighter protection requirements, while HV is governed by other standards (NEN-EN 50110 and others).
Practical example
Een 24 V-stuurcircuit in een schakelkast valt onder ELV en mag daarom met eenvoudigere scheiding worden uitgevoerd dan de 400 V-krachtvoeding (LV) in dezelfde kast.
Common mistake
Denken dat 'laagspanning' in het dagelijks taalgebruik hetzelfde is als de norm-definitie LV — huishoudelijke 230/400 V valt onder LV, niet onder ELV, en vereist dus de volledige NEN 1010-beschermingsmaatregelen.
