Cable type designation
Kabelaanduiding (YMvK / VD / H07RN-F)
Also known as: kabelcodering, kabeltype, kabelmarkering
Cable marking (YMvK / VD / H07RN-F). YMvK = fixed installation (PVC, copper, unarmored), VD = fixed wire for conduit, H07RN-F = flexible rubber cable for portable tools. Select material and sheath on-site based on mechanical load.
Practical example
Cable designation (YMvK / VD / H07RN-F). For fixed installations in conduits, VD wire is used, while a portable construction site compressor is connected with H07RN-F.
Common mistake
Cable designation (YMvK / VD / H07RN-F) Common mistake: Mounting VD cable without conduit protection directly in a damp external wall — VD is intended for protection within a conduit or duct, not for direct exposure.
