NYY underground cable
YMvK/NYY grondkabel
Also known as: yky, nyy
Energy cable with double PVC insulation and black PE sheath for fixed installation in ground, concrete, or exterior wall. Lay ≥600 mm deep under roads, with warning tape 200 mm above cable.
Practical example
YMvK/NYY underground cable. The underground supply between two industrial buildings is laid with NYY cable at 700 mm depth under the driveway, with warning tape above.
Common mistake
YMvK/NYY underground cable Common mistake: Omitting minimum burial depth and warning tape when laying underground cable under a driveway — later excavation poses a real risk of cable damage.
