Cable tray and fill ratio
Open or perforated cable support, built per NEN-EN-IEC 61537, with a permitted load (SWL) based on a safety factor of 1.7. NEN 1010 and NPR 5310 require the fill ratio — the percentage of the tray occupied by cables — to be at most 40% for new installations, relaxed to 60% for runs shorter than 1 metre, to ensure adequate heat dissipation and cable pull-through.
Bij het ontwerpen van een kabeltracé in een technische ruimte wordt de goot zo gedimensioneerd dat na het leggen van alle geplande kabels de vulgraad onder de 40% blijft, met ruimte voor toekomstige uitbreiding.
Een bestaande kabelgoot blijven volproppen bij elke uitbreiding zonder de vulgraad te herberekenen — boven de 40% neemt de onderlinge warmteafgifte van kabels toe, wat de toegestane stroombelastbaarheid van elke kabel in de goot verlaagt.
