Electrical accident registration and reporting
A statutory obligation under Arbowet art. 9 requiring the employer to register every workplace accident (date, nature, cause) and to report immediately to the Netherlands Labour Authority any accident resulting in hospitalisation, permanent injury or death. For electrical accidents (electrocution, arc-flash burns), the registration should also feed back into the risk assessment (RI&E) and work-instruction review under NEN 3140.
Na een lichte elektrische schok bij het testen van een groepenkast registreert de werkgever het incident in het ongevallenregister en past de werkinstructie aan, ook al was ziekenhuisopname niet nodig.
Een 'bijna-ongeval' (bijna-elektrocutie zonder letsel) niet registreren omdat er 'toch niets is gebeurd' — juist bijna-ongevallen leveren waardevolle input voor het voorkomen van een echt ongeval en horen in de registratie thuis.
