No-Trip Loop Impedance Test Method
A loop impedance tester measurement method that uses a short, low-magnitude test current or a phase-corrected measurement pulse to determine loop impedance Zs without unintentionally tripping an RCD present on the circuit under test. This contrasts with classic high-current testing, which loads the installation with a test pulse of several tens of amps for a short time and almost always trips a sensitive RCD (e.g. 30 mA). No-trip measurements are essential when testing existing, occupied installations where tripping during the test is undesirable.
