Magneetschakelaar

Remote-controlled main contact switch with coil. Combined with thermal protection for motor control and often used for automatic shutdown on emergency stop.
Practical example
Magnetic contactor. Pressing the conveyor's E-stop cuts control current to the coil, opening the main contact immediately.
Common mistake
Magnetic contactor: Using it as the sole isolation device during maintenance — for safe working, supply must be disconnected via a visible isolator, not just by de-energizing the coil.
