Three- or four-pole disconnector in the distribution board that de-energizes the entire installation in one operation — mandatory in NL installations as an emergency switch and isolation point for maintenance.
Practical example
Main switch. Before maintenance on the consumer unit, the main switch is turned off, de-energizing the entire installation in one operation.
Common mistake
Main switch: The main switch is missing or inaccessible behind stored items, preventing rapid full disconnection in an emergency.
