Direct-Buried Cable — Burial Depth
The minimum depth at which a cable may be laid directly in the ground without additional mechanical protection (such as a conduit or cover plate). Under NEN 1010 §522.8.10 the minimum depth is 0.5 m in gardens/verges; under paving, driveways and roads a minimum of 1.0 m is used in practice, with a warning tape above the cable as an extra precaution during digging.
Voor de voeding van een tuinhuis wordt een XMVK-grondkabel op 60 cm diepte gelegd met een signaleringslint 20 cm erboven, ruim binnen de NEN 1010-eis van minimaal 0,5 m.
Een grondkabel bij het aanleggen van bestrating op dezelfde diepte laten liggen als in de border ernaast — onder verharding is extra diepte of mechanische bescherming nodig vanwege de grotere kans op puntbelasting en graafwerk.
