Combination of circuit breaker and RCD in one module. Protects one circuit against overcurrent/short circuit and leakage current—prevents one leakage from tripping multiple circuits.
Practical example
RCBO (Residual Current Circuit Breaker with Overcurrent Protection). Example: In a distribution board with many circuits, the washing machine circuit uses its own RCBO, so a leakage current from the washer does not trip the entire kitchen circuit.
Common mistake
RCBO: Confusing an RCBO with a standard MCB when ordering parts—without the RCD function, the circuit lacks protection against indirect contact.
