CE-markering

Manufacturer's declaration that the product complies with all relevant EU directives (LVD, EMC, RoHS). No independent testing—the manufacturer signs the Declaration of Conformity and retains the technical file.
Practical example
CE marking. An imported switch bears a CE marking based on a manufacturer's self-declared Declaration of Conformity, without independent testing.
Common mistake
CE marking: confuse with an independent certification mark — CE is a manufacturer's declaration, not proof of external control.
