Placing Out of Reach
Plaatsing buiten handbereik
Protective measure against direct contact whereby live parts are positioned at such distance or height that simultaneous contact with parts at different potential is not possible within normal human reach; permitted only in certain locations under supervision of skilled or instructed persons.
Practical example
Blanke railverbindingen in een schakelruimte worden op meer dan 2,5 meter hoogte gemonteerd zodat ze buiten het normale armbereik van personen op de vloer vallen.
Common mistake
Plaatsing buiten handbereik toepassen als vervanging voor isolatie of afscherming in ruimten die vrij toegankelijk zijn voor leken — deze maatregel is uitsluitend toegestaan in specifiek afgeschermde, voor onderricht personeel bestemde ruimten.
