Installatiebuis (mantelbuis)
A pipe (rigid, flexible or corrugated, in PVC or metal) in which cables or wires are routed with mechanical protection, inside or on a wall/floor/ceiling. The type and material determine the permitted application (e.g. concrete floor, outer wall, fire-rated penetration).
Practical example
In een betonvloer wordt vóór het storten een gegolfde installatiebuis gelegd, zodat de bekabeling achteraf zonder breekwerk kan worden ingetrokken of vervangen.
Common mistake
Een lege installatiebuis volledig vullen met meer kabels dan de opgegeven vulgraad toestaat — dat bemoeilijkt het intrekken/vervangen en kan tot te hoge kabeltemperatuur leiden.
