NEN 1010 §411.3 / IEC 61008
Rated residual operating current (IΔn) of an RCD
Nominale lekstroom (IΔn) van een RCD
The residual current at which an RCD is guaranteed to trip within the prescribed time (for example 30 mA for shock protection of persons, 300 mA for fire protection of a main circuit). A lower IΔn gives a more sensitive, faster-reacting device but also a greater chance of nuisance tripping from the cumulative leakage currents of multiple devices on the same circuit.
Practical example
