Inspection Body Accreditation (ISO/IEC 17020)
Formal recognition by the national accreditation body that an inspection body is independent, competent and operates under a documented management system for carrying out and certifying NEN 3140 inspections. An accredited body is subject to periodic audits, which underpins the reliability and legal weight of the inspection report.
Een facilitair bedrijf kiest bewust voor een RvA-geaccrediteerde keuringsinstantie voor de NEN 3140-inspectie van haar arbeidsmiddelen, omdat de verzekeraar dit als voorwaarde stelt bij schadeclaims.
Ervan uitgaan dat elk bedrijf met 'NEN 3140' op de website ook daadwerkelijk geaccrediteerd is — accreditatie is een apart, verifieerbaar keurmerk via het register van de Raad voor Accreditatie, geen vrij te gebruiken term.
