Cable Transit (Multi-Cable Transit, IP Sealing System)
A modular sealing system that routes multiple cables of varying diameters jointly, airtight and watertight, through a wall, floor or enclosure transit, typically built from rubber insert blocks that clamp around each cable and are compressed together within a frame. Unlike a single cable gland per cable, a multi-cable transit provides a defined IP rating (often IP66/IP68) for the entire transit, including spare capacity for future cables, and is widely used in outdoor installations, wet areas, tanks and marine bulkhead penetrations. A separately certified system is required for fire resistance — a standard IP seal is not automatically fire-rated too.
