Contact Resistance Measurement
Measurement of the very low resistance (typically in milli- or micro-ohms) across a switching contact, terminal, or busbar joint using a micro-ohmmeter, to detect early oxidation, loose bolts, or poor crimp connections before they cause heat build-up or failure. Unlike a continuity check (which only confirms conduction), contact resistance gives a quantitative indication of joint quality and is often compared against manufacturer reference values or neighbouring joints.
