Cable warning tape
A coloured, often text-printed plastic tape placed roughly 20-30 cm above a buried cable (loose in the trench, above the sand-bed cover) to give timely warning during subsequent digging before the cable itself is struck. Colour and print are not uniformly mandated by law but generally follow grid-operator guidelines (e.g. red/yellow for electricity); CROW 500 describes the recommended working method for excavation near cables and pipelines, including the use of warning tape.
Bij het aanleggen van een grondkabel op 70 cm diepte wordt 25 cm boven de kabel een rood-geel kabelmarkeringslint uitgerold, zodat een volgende graver bij handmatig proefgraven tijdig wordt gewaarschuwd.
Menen dat waarschuwingslint de verplichting tot een KLIC-melding en handmatig proefgraven vervangt — het lint is een aanvullende fysieke waarschuwing, geen vervanging van de wettelijke graafmelding en zorgvuldigheidsplicht.
