Exothermic Welding (Earthing Connection)
A welding method in which a thermite reaction inside a graphite mould locally melts the conductors to be joined (e.g. an earth rod and an earthing conductor), creating a molecular, corrosion-resistant bond without a mechanical clamp. Used for connections that remain permanently buried or in aggressive environments, where a clamped connection could corrode or work loose over time.
