Three-phase system

Driefasen-systeem (3×230/400 V)
Also known as: 3-fasen, drie-fasen, 3fase, krachtstroom, 400v, 230-400v, 50hz, phase-conductor, line-conductor, phase-wire, fasegeleider

Three-phase system (3×230/400 V): Symmetrical AC system with three phases shifted 120° relative to each other. 400 V between phases, 230 V between phase and neutral. Standard in residential connections ≥3×25 A (heat pump, charger) and all utility applications. Line current = power ÷ (√3 × 400 V × cos φ).

Practical example

11 kW wallbox op 3×16 A trekt nominaal 16 A per fase (P = √3 × 400 × 16 × 1,0 ≈ 11 kW).

Common mistake

Fasen ongelijk belasten zodat de N-geleider de som van de drie stromen voert — geeft brandgevaar als N magerder is uitgevoerd dan L.
