Cable UV Resistance (Outdoor Use)
The degree to which a cable's outer sheath resists embrittlement and cracking from prolonged exposure to sunlight (UV radiation). Cables intended for permanent outdoor use, such as PV cables on a roof or supply cables to outdoor fittings, must have an explicitly UV-resistant sheath (often black, carbon-black filled); standard PVC sheaths are generally not suitable for this.
