NEN-EN 60204-1 — Electrical Equipment of Machines
The harmonised standard that fills in the detailed technical requirements for the electrical, electronic and programmable electronic equipment of machinery, substantiating the essential safety requirements of the Machinery Directive. Among other things it governs the colour coding and numbering of wiring in the control cabinet, the required emergency-stop function and stop categories, protection against direct and indirect contact within the machine, and the requirements for the supply disconnecting device (isolator) with which the entire machine can be made dead. Where NEN 1010 governs the fixed installation up to the machine's connection point, NEN-EN 60204-1 governs everything after that point, within the machine itself.
Bij het bouwen van een besturingskast voor een CNC-machine controleert de paneelbouwer of de draadnummering en kleurcodering voldoen aan NEN-EN 60204-1, zodat storingzoeken door een willekeurige onderhoudsmonteur eenduidig blijft.
De hoofdschakelaar van een machine uitsluitend als aan/uit-bedieningsschakelaar gebruiken zonder te controleren of deze ook als volwaardige isolatievoorziening (vergrendelbaar in de uit-stand) volgens NEN-EN 60204-1 is uitgevoerd.
