Four-Point (Wenner) Earth Resistance Measurement
Measurement method in which four equally spaced auxiliary electrodes placed in a straight line (two current, two potential electrodes) are used to determine either the soil's resistivity (by varying the electrode spacing) or the resistance of an existing earthing system (with the earth electrode disconnected from the installation), per NEN-EN 61557-5. Unlike the clamp method, this method also works for a single, isolated earth electrode, and disconnection from the installation is required.
Vóór het ontwerp van een bliksembeveiligingssysteem meet de installateur met de Wenner-viertentmethode de soortelijke grondweerstand op meerdere elektrodeafstanden, om de benodigde lengte en configuratie van de aarders te bepalen.
De vierpuntsmethode toepassen zonder de aarder eerst van de installatie los te koppelen, waardoor parallelle paden via de installatie (bv. via de nutsvoorziening) een te lage, niet-representatieve weerstandswaarde opleveren.
