Undervoltage/no-volt release
A protective function ensuring that a machine or installation does not restart automatically once voltage returns after an interruption, but requires the operator to deliberately press the start button again. Usually implemented with a self-holding (dead-man) contactor circuit; mandatory for machinery under NEN-EN 60204-1 §7.5 to prevent moving parts unexpectedly restarting while someone is still in the hazard zone.
Na een korte netstoring in de werkplaats blijft een cirkelzaag met nulspanningsbeveiliging stilstaan totdat de operator zelf opnieuw op de groene start-knop drukt.
Een start-knop overbruggen met een schakelaar die permanent 'aan' blijft staan, waardoor de nulspanningsbeveiliging feitelijk wordt omzeild en de machine na spanningsherstel toch automatisch herstart.
