IK impact code
IK-codering (stootvastheid)
A rating (IEC 62262) for an enclosure's resistance to mechanical impact, separate from the IP code. Ranges from IK00 (none) to IK10 (20 joule impact). Relevant for luminaires and enclosures in public spaces, sports halls, car parks and industry.
Common mistake
Alleen op IP letten en de IK vergeten — een IP66-armatuur sneuvelt alsnog onder een bal of heftruck als de IK te laag is.
